Climber roses are a variety of roses both classic and modern. Climbers have been around for thousands of years just waiting for the right moment to get truly noticed. These masterpieces can be found in gardens and parks, as well as on professionally landscaped lawns.

The possibilities are limitless as to how these flowers can be used. They are the main attraction of any yard, and can hold their own in any beauty contest. They are truly the best cream of the crop. Gardeners who grow these roses are astounded by both their beauty and their strength.

Climber roses are trained to grow on a variety of support structures. They can grow on fences, along the side of a wall, on a gazebo, or on an archway. These beautiful flowers are part of a mutation of clusters and blooms. They can bloom continually or once a year, it depends on the roses. They can be trained to bloom lightly or heavily, this depends on how the climbers are cut and it what direction they are set on growing.

The Alberic Barbier climbing rose is one of the most popular roses of old today. This rose was bred in the year 1900. It has a green apple scent, pale yellow buds, and beautiful ivory flowers; this flower grows up to 20 feet tall. Another all time favorite is the Altissimo climbing rose. This climber rose won recognition in 1976 for its beauty. They are a little behind in maturing, but when they do catch up they grow to an average of 16 feet. They are a beautiful coral pink, and they have the most gorgeous large pointed buds anyone has ever seen.

Another all-time popular classic is the Don Juan climbing rose. This deep red beauty has a look of soft elegant plush, and it has a hybrid tea fruity fragrant scent. This climber grows to an average height of six to ten feet tall. Next, there is the Eden climber. This classic beauty is a year round that’s mainly seen hanging on fences, trellises, and arbors. They are a creamy soft yellow in color, and grow an average of ten feet tall.

Climber roses are beautiful by nature and they make excellent conversational pieces. They can be found all around the world, and in some of the most prestigious yards in the world. Their love of life makes them the perfect specimen for growing and training. Like any other bush proper care and maintenance must be performed as needed. As with any bush they must be trained, pruned, trimmed, and watered. These are all natural requirements.

Climbers that grow without being properly trimmed may cause damage to their support structure, as it may give away under pressure. There are virtually hundreds of climbing roses that looks great hanging from an outdoor porch, and wrap around a pillar. Climber roses have earned their place in the world of beauty and can stand up against any flower that dares to compare with the rose.

There are so many options for us to choose from when we talk about gardening ideas. But sometimes we have difficulty selecting which one is the best for our household theme. Sometimes friends can give perfect suggestions on how we can make our home look gorgeous. And it would be an unbiased advice if it comes from a person who does not live in your house. There are also tips online and these tips really helped me a lot. I have tried to compare ideas with so many people and I have come up with something different myself.

Flower box is a unique gardening idea that mostly urban residents are enjoying. It is not the typical bed garden that is structured on your backyard. These boxes can be installed on your window sills, indoor gardens and patios. Just a couple of bountiful flowering plant and the appropriate soil can give you a pleasant gardening box. Some flower shops have come up selling ready made flower boxes that go with installation instructions. We just have to follow the instructions on how to install it on our windows or garden spaces at home.

Hanging basketsare actually a classic gardening method. But garden enthusiasts tried to develop and created some pots with hanging options. Somehow they did a great job of giving us choice on how are we going to use our gardening resources. This method is the easiest for me because we only need one pot or basket to maintain. Unlike the traditional garden that we have, it is like yards of plants to handle every gardening activity. Another good thing about hanging baskets is our option to transfer pot anywhere we want and we can make garden arrangements anytime of the day.

Planter box is another garden structure that most modern homes use. It can be like a big box of wood or hard plastic that we can place on our patios and house lobbies. It can also be stunning indoors like in our living rooms and dining areas. Bigger plants fit well on this. Some try Bonsai trees to go with the planters. There is a planter box type that is really a hit in modern home development. It is the illuminated planter box. Best feature of this box is the light bright atmosphere that it brings during night time or on dark rooms or areas of the house. Another thing about this wonderful creation is the selection of different colors that fit the occasion and the concept of our homes.

The above three gardening ideas are my favorites. I hope you have one favorite gardening method too. I sure want to hear or read about it. Would you mind sharing it now?

==>> What is the difference between male and female plants?

Female plants produce high amounts of the active ingredient THC mainly ranging from 5-25%. The other more desired chemical contained in female plants are Cannabinoids. When normal standard cannabis seeds are grown they produce both female and male plants. Female plants produce buds otherwise known as skunk, weed, pot, ganja and many other names which are smoked to achieve desirable effects. A female plant is distinctive in looks as it will produce THC glands otherwise known as Trichromes. Female plants are basically starved of the male pollen they are trying to attract in order to produce seeds. Under artificial lighting female plants will swell in the hope of being pollinated and grow to produce big buds. The buds produced will glisten with a snow like shine that will almost look wet and dripping.

Male plants on the other hand produce the same THC glands but these glands produce pollen. They look completely different as rather than the trichromes which are long and whisky, male flowers are like small balls when they first start out. Once the pollen is ready the male plant will open into a flower like composure. Once open the male flower will drop pollen that if placed onto a female bud will make the female bud produce seeds. Buds that contain seeds generally are not very nice to smoke and so are not desired. People who smoke cannabis look for a high quality end product and contaminating a grow room with males will certainly have an adverse effect on the plant. The big problem with pollen is that once a plant produces it, the slightest amount will make seeds.

==>> What are feminized seeds?

Feminized seeds are seeds that have been grown using advanced techniques that modify the genetic makeup, making every seed produce only female plants. This eliminates the problem of trying to identify male plants in your garden and also means that every seed is used in production and will produce the desired buds that are smoked rather than males that are normally destroyed.

Some people think and say that playing with a plant’s genetics is unethical, unnatural and they make it their mission never to use feminized seeds. This statement has been proven to be wrong and maybe these people are just old fashioned in their ways or they compare it to humans because they love plants to much but everyone is entitled to their opinion as this here is only our opinion really. From our research and the underlying fact that most of the top renowned seed producers are only producing feminized seeds ‘that must tell you something’. If the female seeds you have acquired have been developed in the correct way they are actually said to be the spectacle of cannabis genetics. The plants genetics are sturdy and pure female, if done right and will display the ultimate female properties. We have personally been a part of this community and business and we have seen female seeds out selling regular seeds at a rate of 10-1. In fact the only reason we could see for buying regular seeds is if you wanted to attempt to produce your own seeds. The only way you will get seeds is with the pollen produced by male plants but is that really true?

==>> How are feminized seeds produced?

Feminized seeds are produced by taking a prize female plant and taking a set of cuttings known as clones from this prize plant. The cuttings are then grown and through various techniques you can stress a female plant into producing male pollen. For some reason if you take the pollen generated by a 100% female plants clones and use it back on the female that has not been stressed out that original plant will produce 100% female seeds.
This technique was originally developed by one of the top breeders in Amsterdam. In fact Dutch Passion developed a technique for identifying a 100% true breed female plant. They basically grew approximately 1000 female seeds and subjected the plants to a series of stressing techniques to make them produce pollen. What they discovered is that out of the 1000 plants, most of them possessed male genetic properties that made them produce male flowers/pollen. The interesting discovery was that a hand full of the plants did not change under stressed out conditions. This discovery led them to believe that they had found the 100% XX Female plant and this plant would be kept to be there mother plant. This mother plant would be kept in vegetative growth and be used to provide all there clones for producing female seeds. The major benefit of producing seeds in this way is that occasionally with feminized seeds the odd male characteristic will come out and will result in the odd display of pollen. By finding the pure female plant it is believed that the elimination of male genetic malfunction is achieved.

There are various techniques used for stressing a female plant into producing pollen. The basic understanding is that when a female plant thinks it is about to die, as a defense mechanism it is programmed to regenerate or reproduce. If a plant is to live on it is to do so through its offspring just like humans and like humans if we did not give birth we would die out. So basically when a female is under threat of being killed it produces enough pollen to either self pollinate or pollinate a plant nearby so that it produces seeds and lives on. What seed breeders do is they use techniques such as lighting tricks of complete darkness or chemical sprays that stunt the growth of a plant or various other ways that distress the plant and make it think it is going to die. The techniques used are very delicate in process but have the desired effect without killing the plant.
There are various seedbanks that produce feminized seeds of all varieties and if you would like to buy feminized cannabis seeds any time soon check out this exclusive new online shop. You will find massive amounts of resourceful information on this site and they are the only seed company to offer strain statistics guides for all of the strains that they sell.

Responding to flooding ought to be made as easy as possible, in order to prevent the spread of dangerous spills from occurring and lessen the gravity of the effects. The effectiveness of how these spills are dealt with can be determined by the instruments that are used in the clean-up effort. Using stormwater BMP drain insert protection is a step that would afford additional security against leaks and spills. Facilities would do well to take steps to secure the proper stormwater products. There are many advantages to having an appropriate set; one of which is being equipped to deal with spills and other accidents that may occur in the establishment.

Workers involved in clean-ups run various risks to their health. Efforts to clean up after storms and floods often involve hazardous activities. Individuals who are employed in storm and flood cleanup must be instructed regarding the potential risks that they may encounter, as well as the corresponding safety precautions. Some of the work-related dangers that that may be involved would include heat stress, electrical hazards, inhaling Carbon Monoxide, working with hazardous materials, musculoskeletal hazards, and fire. Employers and workers both need to be prepared in advance and be aware of the response activities. They need to know how to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses that may occur in the field during clean-up efforts.

In storm-damaged properties, located along storm-surge zones in low-lying coastal areas, coming in contact with weathered oil is a common occurrence. Teams that are charged with field assessment should determine the degree to which debris is contaminated with weathered oil. As much as possible this must be done prior to the actual debris removal process. The type of equipment and protection that would be required can then be planned, based on the findings of the damage assessments. As part of a comprehensive health and safety plan, the appropriate safety and health training should also be included.

The process in selecting the appropriate response methods should take into account the potential of each method to minimize the environmental consequences of the spill. The result of this selection should be the implementation of the particular method that reduces consequences in the given situation most effectively. The environmental consequences of a spill generally depend on the particulars of the spill that occurred. Some of these would be as the type and amount of oil, the area in which where the spill occurred, weather conditions, and the effectiveness of the response methods that are used. It is crucial that those involved in the planning and cleaning efforts should discuss and develop the various resource protection priorities. As much as possible this should be included in during contingency planning, to limit any time that may be lost during the actual response.

The pursuit of maintaining safety, productivity and cleanliness in the workplace should remain a top priority for establishments. In this regard, DAWG has endeavored to provide products and services over the course of more than twenty years. From its beginnings as a small spill control company, DAWG has become a large multi-brand supplier of products which are specially made for industrial safety, personal protection and building maintenance.

In stark contrast to the dwarf elephant ears are the towering Colocasia gigantea and similar forms which max out at over 6.5′ tall or have extremely large leaves. These plants are bold statements in the garden and look great as specimen plants. They can be grown in large containers as well and can be under-planted with a variety of small plants to compliment the texture or color.

C. esculenta ‘Burgundy Stem’ (Sun to Light Shade, Zone 7b-10, Ht 80″) is a gem that makes a bold statement in the garden, with 6′+, deep purple petioles leading to the 3′ long, giant green leaves with a slight hazy purple cast, like the air over Los Angeles. The 1′ tall yellow flowers have a wonderful papaya-like fragrance. Although it sends out wild-looking runners, it has been very slow to spread…wonderful!

C. ‘Fontanesii’ (Sun to Light Shade, 7b-10, Ht. 80″) is one of the most spectacular plants in our garden. The giant purple-black petioles rise to nearly 7′. At the end of each petiole sits a giant, green, heart-shaped leaf (to 3′ long) with a shiny black cast. In late summer, the plant is home to wonderful yellow aroid flowers, to 12″ long, with a fragrance of papayas…WOW!

C. esculenta ‘Jack’s Giant’ (Sun to part sun, Zone 7-10 at least, Ht. 84″) is a monster C. esculenta. I hope you’ve got your beanstalk planted ’cause ‘Jack’s Giant’ is here. We received our original plant from Jack de Vroomen of Marlboro Bulb Company, who brought this to us from Costa Rica. The tuber was much larger and shaped differently from other C. esculenta forms we had grown. In our garden, the plants easily reached 7′ tall, even in a very dry section, with medium green leaves similar to typical C. esculenta. We are pretty sure it is a triploid form, which should increase winter hardiness. Remember, rich organic soils that are moist during the growing season result in the best growth. Despite the lack of calories, we hope you’ll enjoy supersizing your garden!

C. gigantea (Sun to Part Sun, Zone 7b-10, at least, Ht. 60″) is not the tallest elephant ear that we grow but is has a giant disposition thanks to its enormous leaves. Thanks to collector extraordinaire Hayes Jackson for sharing this very distinct and hard-to-find elephant ear. Resembling an Alocasia, the 5′ tall gray petioles (stalks) hold the large, silver-veined, gray-green leaves outright. When the plants mature, the tip of the leaf arches downward and each leaf develops bizarre appendages on the underside…you’ll just have to see it for yourself. This clone of C. gigantea makes a fast-multiplying clump but without the long runners of many C. esculenta forms…still plenty to share.

C. gigantea Thailand Giant Strain (Sun to part-sun, Zone 8-10, Ht. 108″) is the curious king of our Colocasia collection (do you like alliteration?). Make mine super-sized! This huge strain of the giant elephant ear was grown from wild collected seed (PES 1003B) from Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand, in 2003 by former PDN Research Manager Petra Schmidt. In the wild, the plants reached a massive 9′ tall, which is much larger than the clone of C. gigantea we currently grow. For us, each individual leaf grows in excess of 5′ long x 4′ wide. Each seedling will differ slightly, but massive plants will be the result. In foliage, the leaves are an attractive glaucous-gray which is typical of this species. From an early age, the plants are adorned with clusters of dramatically large, pleasantly scented, white flowers.

Colocasia gigantea definitely add a tropical look to the garden.

Choosing between greenhouse flooring options for your greenhouse is an exciting time in the construction or renovation of any greenhouse. Should you choose gravel, wood, concrete, brick, pine needles, bark mulch, sawdust, or flagstones for your new greenhouse floor?

What to consider before deciding on flooring for your greenhouse:

1. Drainage. Drainage is crucial in a wet environment like a greenhouse. If you’re leaning toward a solid flooring material, like concrete or wood, keep in mind that you’ll need to install drains to help keep your greenhouse flooring dry and your plants healthy and free from mold. Organic materials like pine needles, sawdust, and plain dirt floors have the best drainage capacities. Other materials, like gravel, bricks, and flagstones, are also relatively decent in the no-fuss drainage department.

2. Decomposition. Some flooring materials, like sawdust or wood, will decompose over time and need replacing. They may be cheaper to begin with, but costs will ad up over time.

3. Price. This is obviously one of the determining factors. What can you afford to put into your greenhouse? Sawdust and pine needles are relatively cheap, where hardwood and composite flooring are more expensive. don’t fall in love with something until you know whether it is in your budget or not!

4. Heat. Heat retention is an important factor in the greenhouse if you live in a colder climate. Materials such as brick and flagstone will help trap and slowly release the day’s heat during the cooler nighttime hours. This can help significantly decrease your heating costs during colder weather.

5. Comfort. Caring for plants in a greenhouse requires many, many hours of standing on your feet. What can your body handle? Can you stand for hours on an unforgivable surface like concrete or brick? Or do you need softer material like sawdust or pine?

6. Traction. Your greenhouse floor will often be wet or covered in spilled soil. This can lead to slips and falls if you’re not careful. If you opt for a gravel floor, you may want to choose a coarse stone that will provide better traction, or brushed concrete verses smooth.

Obviously there are many things to consider when choosing greenhouse flooring. You must consider the pricing, heat factor, traction, and more. Weigh all of your options carefully, and you are sure to pick a floor that will provide you many years of comfort and enjoyment!

One of the most essential pieces of yard equipment for any home is a garden hose. Not only do you use them to water your landscaping and gardening, they are also help with many household chores like gutter cleaning, washing off your deck or sidewalks, or summer time fun like sprinklers and pools. In order to make sure your garden hose is ready whenever you need it, you need to store it properly. A hose should be rolled up with no kinks or crimps so that those spots do not become weak and risk failure. One of the most popular forms of garden hose storage is a garden hose hanger. There are several reasons that this is a preferred method for hose storage for many homeowners including but not limited to how easy it is to store the hose, the attractiveness of many models, and how easy it is to install.

The design of a garden hose hanger is actually quite simple. There are usually only two parts. The first part is either a rod or flat piece of material that attaches at one end to the house, garage, shed, or whatever structure you are installing the garden hose hanger on. It is usually attached with a series of screws so you need to make sure that the structure is substantial enough to hold the weight of the hanger and the garden hose when it is stored. The other end of the rod or plate attaches to a decorative front. The front panels are usually rectangular or oval shaped and the rod or plate attaches to the top third of the panel. The purpose of this panel is to hide the hose that will be wrapped around the horizontal rod or plate. The larger part of the panel is below the rod or plate because typically the hose hangs done two feet or so in loops.

People prefer this type of garden hose storage because it can be very convenient. You can install the hanger right next to your water source so you will not have to go far to get the hose when you need water. You can even leave the garden hose connected to the water source when it is not in use. It is also convenient when you want to use the hose because it just takes one motion of lifting the hose off the hanger and you have access to the entire hose easily.

Because it is easy to access the hose and easy to store the hose, this is a good garden hose storage choice for people who use their hose more than occasionally, but it might not be the best choice for someone who uses their hose daily. It can become somewhat cumbersome to have to stand and wrap up the hose every day. Granted, you do not have to take it to another location for storage which would be more onerous, but it is not the easiest way to store a hose either like a retractable garden hose that automatically winds up with the touch of a button.

Sometimes you just don’t have the space in your garden to plant everything that you want. If you are limited to a container garden or to a small backyard garden, you’re probably limited when planting vegetables. However, there is another way! Vertical gardening is a great option for those with less space!

Vertical gardening is a way of growing plants up instead of out in order to conserve space. Even if you have lots of space in the garden, vertical gardening will help to keep plants up off of the ground, and will make the garden space look more clean and organized. Through the use of trellises, stakes and fencing, you can give your plants space to grow that you would not normally have. There are various plants that are well suited to this type of gardening.

Many supports for vertical gardening can easily be made, or purchased in the garden center. Also, keep an eye out for materials at auctions and yard sales. A chain link fence is a good place for vining plants like peas and beans. If you already have one in your yard, place the garden close to it to make better use of the space. You can easily construct a support for cucumbers by using wooden stakes or poles, and some baling twine. Place the poles about a foot apart, and string the twine back and forth in a zigzag fashion across the stakes. Staking cucumbers allows the fruit to stay off of the ground preventing rot. Ripe cucumbers are also much easier to see in this configuration.

Even fruits like cantaloupe and small melons can be grown vertically. The plants will vine on a fence or trellis. In order to support the weight of the melons, make a sling for each with old nylons tied to the fence. The nylons will cradle the fruit until they are ready to harvest.

Tomatoes can grow trailing on the ground, but should be placed in a tomato cage for support. Many people already do this without thinking of it being vertical gardening, but it is. Tomatoes will easily get bruised and will rot if they are allowed to grow on the ground.

Any of these methods can easily be used when container gardens are being grown. Stakes, cages and other types of support can be placed inside or outside of the container in order to allow plants to grow vertically.

If you are struggling with fitting in everything that you want to grow, vertical gardening is for you. In theory, you can grow all of your vegetables in half the space. While some vegetables are not suited to this type of gardening, there are many that are, and this method will make things easy on your plants and on you.

If you crave for grapes and you dream to have them in your

backyard, then what is stopping you from doing so?

Nowadays, “how to grow grape” tricks and tips are scattered

everywhere to the point that growing them at home is not a

difficult task anymore.

However, unlike growing your other typical fruit, growing

grapes is a completely different story. The process is

complicated and requires great dedication. That is why it

is a must to consider some important factors in the first

place. Check out these tips on how to grow grapes the

successful way:

1. Decide on the grape variety.

Before you get too excited by running into a grape nursery

for a baby vine purchase, make sure that you already know

which variety you want to choose. Once you’ve decided, seek

advice from the nursery professionals whether your choice

is suited for home growing conditions. Of course, this is

for you to know early whether that grape type will grow

successfully. Take note that your choice will always depend

on the vine’s climate requirements, so that they will grow

well.

2. Plant in an area where sunlight is sufficient.

You can plant in your yard, but see to it that your

garden’s location is enjoying a lot of sunlight. As you

know, sunlight is a requisite of a grape to grow healthy.

Sunlight too helps eradicate chances of developing

diseases. This is especially true if your vine is in the

period of bearing fruit, because sunlight is integral at

this moment. Also, this will keep the fruit dry so it is

free from any moist or mold.

3. Develop your soil quality.

Amending the vine’s soil is vital for the grapes to develop

deep roots. Furthermore, to ensure good harvest in the

future, cultivate it regularly for it to become fast-

draining and loose.

4. Get some support for them.

Any kind of support, be it fence, walls or trellis, is

vital for the grape growing process. Any of these will

serve well to keep the fruits above the soil. Nonetheless,

it is recommended to choose arbors and traditional stakes.

Fruit contact with the soil will make them rot easily.

5. Prune the grapevines.

After you noticed that they become dormant, pruning them is

necessary. Doing this will help control them easily.

Furthermore, this will also allow free air flow, especially

to the fruits.

6. Pull long runners.

Remove all long runners during the mid growing season.

Never forget to do this. It will help your grapes grow

healthier and be under control at the same time.

Be careful with the idea of grape growing, for it can be

tricky. One simple mistake will likely snatch away all your

beautiful harvest. Hence, if you want homegrown grapes,

ensure everything is done right the first time. After all,

your hard work will surely pay off once you’ve tasted the

sweetness of a single fruit from your harvest.
